    ATLANTA - As part of the 2021-22 ASUN Conference Annual Awards the league revealed a pair of new honors for recognition that were both related to the NCAA's Academic Progress Report (APR). This year the ASUN handed out awards to the league institutes with the highest overall APR and the most improved APR score.

    ATLANTA - The ASUN Conference announced today that it will begin the 2023-24 season without a teammate that has served for the past 32 years. Commissioner Ted Gumbart, who came to the conference staff as its first Assistant Commissioner in the fall of 1991, will call it a career after the conclusion of the current academic year.

  • ASUN Conference Announces SAAC Officers for 2022-23 Academic Year

    ATLANTA - The ASUN Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced on Friday the officers for the upcoming 2022-23 academic year. Elected by their peers, North Florida's Ashley Cozad, Lipscomb's Scotty McKenzie and FGCU's Benjamin Hermiston are set to take over leadership roles with the SAAC. The Ospreys' Ashley Cozad represents the ASUN Conference at the NCAA Divison I SAAC level.

  • University of North Alabama Receives Full NCAA Division I Status
    August 03, 2022
    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (roarlions.com) - The University of North Alabama has been notified by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors that it has successfully completed all reclassification requirements and has been elected to active Division I status effective with the 2022-23 academic year. The Board's action concludes North Alabama's four-year reclassification period from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I and officially grants the University access to Division I membership benefits, including full NCAA post-season eligibility beginning this fall.

    ATLANTA - The ASUN Conference Hall of Fame announced its newest members with the Class of 2022 inductees featuring three individuals that left an incredible mark on both their universities and the league. The ASUN Hall of Fame's eighth induction class of FGCU's Casey Coleman, Lipscomb's Adnan Hodzic and former member UCF's Stephanie Best join the other 32 individuals which comprised the conference's first seven classes.
  • Five ASUN Student-Athletes Nominated for 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Award

    INDIANAPOLIS (ncaa.org) - NCAA member schools have nominated a total of 577 graduating student-athletes for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year award. A total of six ASUN members were represented as Gracie Frazier (Eastern Kentucky Softball), Cortney VanLiew (FGCU Volleyball), Siena Gore (Kennesaw State Women's Lacrosse), Amani Johnson (Kennesaw State Women's Basketball) and Gabby O'Connell (North Florida Volleyball) were among the Division I nominees. Swimming & Diving student-athlete Kayla Tennant represented incoming member Queens with a Division II nomination.
  • Lipscomb Wins ASUN Academic Trophy; League Boasts 2,521 Honor Roll Recipients

    ATLANTA, Ga. - With a conference-best 88.97% of student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 GPA in the 2021-22 academic year, Lipscomb earned its seventh ASUN Conference Academic Champion Trophy in program history. The Bisons' seven academic titles are the second-most in league history. Lipscomb finished ahead of Bellarmine (82.32%) and North Florida (81.12%) on the ASUN Honor Roll.

    ATLANTA, Ga. - The ASUN Conference officially welcomed its newest members, Austin Peay State University and Queens University of Charlotte, on July 1. APSU announced its acceptance of the ASUN's membership invitation at a press conference last September while Queens made its move to Division I athletics official in May.

    ATLANTA, Ga. – Six student-athletes represented ASUN Conference athletics earning CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large honors, the organization announced on Thursday. Representatives from Coastal Carolina (Megan Bozzi), Eastern Kentucky (Ragnildhur Kristinsdottir), FGCU (Haley Yerxa), Kennesaw State (Siena Gore), Liberty (Austin Duncan) and North Florida (Kit Gulihur) had their names appear on the awards lists for the sports of golf, tennis and lacrosse. At‐Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student‐athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

    ATLANTA, Ga. – The ASUN Conference announced today the addition of Queens University of Charlotte into the league after a unanimous vote by the ASUN Presidents' Council. With the introduction of the Royals, the league expands to 14 member institutions as the ASUN extends its footprint back into the State of North Carolina.
