  • EKU Set to Represent @ASUN_Football in FCS Playoffs Opening Round

    ATLANTA - Eastern Kentucky makes its return to the FCS Playoffs for 22nd time in program history but the first since 2014 after sharing the ASUN Conference title and earning the AQ for the ASUN-WAC partnership. The Colonels were tabbed to host an opening round contest by the playoff committee and welcome the Big South's Gardner-Webb to CG Bank Field at Roy Kidd Stadium on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.

    ATLANTA - The 2022 ASUN Conference Football postseason honors were announced Wednesday by the league office as voted on by the conference's head coaches. Central Arkansas claimed two individual honors as David Walker was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year and Will Diggins earned Freshman of the Year award while Eastern Kentucky also boasted a pair of honorees with Parker McKinney tabbed as Offensive Player of the Year and Walt Wells named Coach of the Year. North Alabama's ShunDerrick Powell garnered Offensive Player of the Year recognition and Kennesaw State's Conor Cummins earned the Special Teams Player of the Year accolade to round out the list of superlatives.

    ATLANTA - The ASUN Conference had a pair of players recognized as Eastern Kentucky's Parker McKinney and North Alabama's ShunDerrick Powell were both among the list of 30 national finalists for the 2022 Stats Perform Walter Payton Award, which is annually presented to the national offensive player of the year in college football’s Division I subdivision.

McKinney is collecting his fourth honor of the season and Butler is also a repeat honoree while Jackson and Dawson garner their first selections of the season.
