First Career Honors Handed Out for This Week's #ASUNMSOC Awards

ATLANTA – Three first-time ASUN Conference Men's Soccer weekly awards were handed out on Tuesday, announced by the conference office. Stetson's Gio Rodriguez (Player) collected the first weekly award of the season for the Hatters following his two goals in a 2-0 win at UNF. Central Arkansas' Bradyn Knutson picked up the Defensive Player of the Week honor after helping the Bears in their shutout victory against Bellarmine while the shutout performance by Queens' Javier Izquierdo-Cuervo earned him the first ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week award for the Royals in the program's history.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Gio Rodriguez, Stetson
Senior | Midfielder | Pompano Beach, Florida
- First Career ASUN Player of the Week award; first of the season for Stetson & 39th in program history
- Tallied two goals in the Hatters' conference victory against North Florida
- Recorded a 1.000% SOG average in the victory with goals coming in the 33rd & 48th minute
- Led Stetson to its first road victory and a 2-0 conference record on the season
- Sits in a tie for third in the league with three goals and is third in total points (7)

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Bradyn Knutson, Central Arkansas
Senior | Defender | Spring, Texas
- First Career ASUN Defensive Player of the Week selection; first of the season for UCA & third honor in program history
- Helped anchor a Central Arkansas back line that allowed just three shots in the win against Bellarmine
- Led the Bears to their second straight shutout of the season
- Aided UCA's defense in not allowing a goal to a conference opponent this fall against UNF and Bellarmine
- Returns to ASUN action in a battle of conference unbeaten squads when the Bears play Stetson on Saturday

Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Javier Izquierdo-Cuervo
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Gijon, Spain
- First Career ASUN
 Goalkeeper of the Week accolade; inaugural award in Queens program history
- Led the Royals to their first Division I victory in program history at UNC Asheville
- Recorded his first career shutout in Queens' 3-0 victory against the Bulldogs
- Tallied six saves in net facing 14 shots while playing the full 90 minutes
- Sits second in the league with 20 saves on the season
