ATLANTA - Four more ASUN Conference Men's Soccer matches between eight of the league squads will be on display this weekend. Friday night features Liberty at FGCU with both teams sitting in the top half of the league and looking to bounce back off losses in their last outings. 

Central Arkansas visits Stetson in a battle of conference undefeated foes Saturday night at 7 PM ET with the Bears looking for revenge after last season's defeat versus the Hatters. Also kicking off in the 7 PM window is Bellarmine at Jacksonville and North Florida playing non-conference opponent Mercer. Conference leader and 21st-ranked Lipscomb welcomes the league's newest member, Queens, to Nashville at 7 PM CT to round out the night's contest.

More non-conference action is set with four games on Tuesday including a pair of 6 PM contests when the Dolphins host Presbyterian and Flames take on Longwood. The Royals welcome Wofford to the Queen City at 7 PM ET  and the Bisons remain on their home turf to play Georgia State at 7 PM CT.

Match of the Week
Central Arkansas at Stetson | Sept. 24 | 7 PM ET
The Bears look to even up the all-time series against the Hatters in a match of conference unbeatens. Stetson won 2-1 last season which was the fourth win of a five-match winning stretch.

What to Watch For

  • UCA, Lipscomb and Stetson remain the lone conference unbeaten & untied teams in the league; all three teams were tournament semifinalists a season ago, the Bears and Hatters go head-to-head this week while the Bisons take on Queens.
  • Three goalkeepers are nearing career milestone marks — FGCU's Wyatt Kistner is one stop from 25, Bellarmine's Matthew Brozovich is two saves from hitting 50 in his career and UNF's Padriac Gilley is two stops from the century mark.
  • Four student-athletes enter the weekend a hat trick shy of hitting milestones with Bellarmine's Nolan McGrath and Haziq Zed, FGCU's Davi Alves, and Lipscomb Burl Shepherd all three goals from their 10th career tally.

- After splitting last week's home outings, the Knights travel to the River City to play Jacksonville; the two teams are squaring off for just the second time in the Knights' DI-era, a 0-0 tie in the 2021 regular-season finale.
- Nolan McGrath netted his team-leading fourth goal of the season versus the Mastodons, placing him in sole possession of second in the league and tied for second in points (8). 
- Matthew Brozovich's 20 saves is the fourth-best mark of the season; he holds a .667 saves percentage and a 1.67 goals-against average through his six appearances.

- The Bears complete a three-match road swing when they play Stetson on Saturday in the Match of the Week, both teams come into the matchup undefeated in conference matches and meet for just the second time in program history.
- Four different UCA student-athletes scored in the first half of the match at Memphis before the Tigers rallied for five goals in the final 45 minutes; Sebastian Andreassen, Rubyn Gill, Jerry Gutierrez and Bernard Assibey-Rhule have all scored two goals this season.
- UCA is third in the league in both points per game (4.6) and saves per game (3.71) this season while their 13 goals are tied with Jacksonville for second, only behind Lipscomb's 18.

- The Eagles continue to pressure the opposing defense by lining up for more than 7.3 corner kicks per game while the defensive effort is leading the league in goals-against average (.667) and second in save percentage (.826).
- Davi Alves and Aedon Kyra lead five FGCU scorers with two goals and four points apiece; Wyatt Kistner has been the lone goalkeeper used by FGCU this season accounting for 18 saves and just four goals surrendered against 56 shots faced this season.

- Jacksonville is led by the two-goal trio of Joshua Araujo-Wilson, Olivier Correa and Cao Chaves while seven other Dolphins have also found the back of the net this season. 
- The Dolphins' 1.57 goals against average is the fourth-best mark in the league while the team leads the conference with 28 saves; Christian Sekanina has accounted for half of the team's saves and his four goals allowed is the second-lowest.

- Javier Izquierdo-Cuervo became the first Royal to earn an ASUN weekly honor as the Goalkeeper of the Week stopped six shots vs. UNC Asheville and became the league leader with 27 saves.
