ATLANTA – Another intense ASUN Conference Men's Soccer matchup played to a 2-2 draw on the pitch on Sunday night as Central Arkansas and FGCU collected another point in the league standings. The Bears maintained the second position in the standings with two league matches left on their schedule while the Eagles hold down the fifth spot and have three more ASUN foes on the schedule.
The Eagles struck first in the 22nd minute of action as Davi Alves converted on a PK. UCA's Bernard Assibey-Rhule netted the first goal for the Bears 12 minutes later as the two sides went to the break-even, 1-1. Central Arkansas got help from its leading scorer in Sebastian Andreassen as he placed the go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute on a header before the Eagles played for one final push and tied the game for good in the 81st minute when Jacob Tatebe took a free kick opportunity just outside of the top of the box.
UCA had the slight, 13-12 edge in total shots, placing seven on frame to FGCU's three as the Eagles' Wyatt Kistner came away with a season-high five stops. CJ Pycior earned one save after making his third consecutive start in net for the Bears.
