ATLANTA – With the 2022 ASUN Conference Volleyball season approaching, we preview each of the 14 conference squads in preparation for the 38th season of ASUN Volleyball. Queens was selected to finish 14th – and earned one first-place vote – in the Preseason Coaches Poll as the Royals are set to open their first year as a Division I member within the ASUN.

Hannah Long enters her seventh season as head coach of the Queens volleyball program in 2022 after a 16-13 overall record (10-8 South Atlantic Conference) in the Royals' final run before making the jump to the ASUN. With 12 years under her belt at Southwestern (Texas) and another half-dozen in her current stint at Queens, Long has amassed a career mark of 468-151 (.756) in 18 career seasons on the sidelines. In 2021, the Royals were 9-4 at home inside Curry Arena and earned a spot in the SAC Championship for postseason play.

The team opens regular-season action on Aug. 26 in the UNC-Asheville tournament against Morehead State, then plays Stonehill and the host Bulldogs the very next day. Queens makes an appearance in the Mercer tournament against the likes of the host Bears and Southern Mississippi (Sept. 3), before traveling to Tennessee to line up against Memphis in the first of three matchups at the Beale Street Challenge from Sept. 9-10. The Royals also play in the GATA Challenge before opening up ASUN play for the first time in history at Liberty on Sept. 23. The two squads will square off in Charlotte just two days later on Sept. 25. Queens will also travel to reigning ASUN Champion FGCU on Oct. 21 and host fellow league newcomer Austin Peay on Oct. 29.
