North Florida Schedule | North Florida 2021 Season Stats

ATLANTA – With the 2022 ASUN Conference Volleyball season approaching, we preview each of the 14 conference squads in preparation for the 38th season of ASUN Volleyball. North Florida was selected to finish sixth in the Preseason Coaches Poll with a total of 133 voting points. The Ospreys are coming off a 25-8 campaign a year ago (12-4 ASUN).

UNF was able to make the ASUN Championship Semifinals last year after taking care of business against Lipscomb in the quarterfinal round of the event with the club looking to take the next step in 2022. The Ospreys' Rocio Moro rounded out the superlative accolades by taking home the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year award after being tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in 2021. Moro paced the ASUN in digs (597) and digs per set (4.85) in 2021. She finished 11th in the country in digs and 39th overall in Division I for digs per set. The libero reached double-digit digs in 30 of UNF's 33 matches last season.

Kristen Wright is heading into her fifth season on the sidelines for Ospreys as head coach and currently holds a 141-76 career record, with a 61-58 mark and counting at UNF. Her group was first in the ASUN in kills (1,599) and assists (1,503), along with second in the league in digs (1,738) and total blocks (267). The Ospreys begin the year on Aug. 26 at the Gators Invitational against the likes of Florida and Virginia before lining up against Kansas State and Syracuse in the UCF Challenge on Sept. 2-3. UNF also plays Auburn (Sept. 11) and Iowa (Sept. 16) before defending champion FGCU comes calling in the ASUN opener on Sept. 23. The Ospreys then take on Stetson the next day before their league road opener on Sept. 30 at Lipscomb.
